Tatuaje Fausto FT 166 Cigars
In the middle of 2009, Pete Johnson of Tatuaje released another one of his popular limited edition single store releases, the Tatuaje T110. The T110 was a shorter version of a cigar that Pete had made in Pepín García's Nicaraguan factory as a joke, dubbed the Thermonuclear. It was one of the more innovative releases, as the blend was comprised entirely of Ligero, a first of its kind. The Ligero puro was so strong, Pete thought, that there was no way anyone would smoke one, let alone want it released. Turns out, he was wrong, as the T110 would become one of the most heralded Tatuaje releases of all time. For the next two years, Tatuaje fans and retailers begged Pete Johnson to make the T110 blend a regular release — finally he gave in, and the Tatuaje Fausto was born.
Released in July of 2011, Tatuaje Fausto FT 127 cigar features a Nicaraguan binder and fillers with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and is made at Jaime García's state-of-the-art My Father Cigars S.A., in Estelí Nicaragua. The blend is identical to the original T110, although Pete has stated that he will not release the exact T110 size as part of Fausto. Instead, there are four sizes of Fausto including the: FT127 (Robusto), FT140 (Robusto Extra), FT153 (Toro) and FT166 (Short Churchill). In addition, Pete created Avion, a box-pressed Perfecto that features the same tobacco blend as Fausto. For those familiar with the T110, you can expect the same full-bodied, full-flavor and full strength profile across the entire Fausto line. Flavor is a mixture of peppers, sweet leather, earth and cocoa. Subtle notes of coffee and wood can be picked up, as the cigar retains a unique balance despite its inherent strength. Fausto, a must for the Tatuaje lover.
