THE NEW La Zona 10th Anniversary
It is a 6 x 52 toro that uses a Brazilian escuro alto wrapper, which is a higher priming of the type of leaf that is used on Espinosa’s Laranja line. The binder and filler are both Nicaraguan, with the filler including pelo de oro tobacco, a flavorful but hard-to-grow varietal. Héctor Alfonso, director of operations for Espinosa Premium Cigars, calls the La Zona 10 Year Anniversary a full flavored cigar, but one that is not full strength.
“Everything about this cigar is a tribute, from the cigar blend to the box design and the band,” said Alfonso, who called the cigars “throwbacks to when the company first started out.”
